We both love our jobs and are very good at what we do. Martin is a high school science teacher at one of the best schools in the country. He is loved by his students and respected by his colleagues. He loves teaching kids to love science in the world around them.

Jason is an executive for a large internet company and oversees local entertainment web sites. Both of us are fortunate to have flexible schedules to allow us to spend lots of time with our new child. Jason has flexible hours and can work from home when necessary. This means he will never miss a dance recital, little league game, or any other activity our child enjoys. Martin will be able to spend three to six months at home with our child. Since he is a teacher, he will be able to spend lots of time with our child he is free in the afternoons and all summer long!

Martin loves music. He can play the piano, clarinet, saxophone and the guitar (a little). Mostly, though, he loves to sing. He can't wait to teach our child how to sing Christmas songs! Martin loves to listen to all types of music, but is particularly fond of classical music and jazz. Our child will grow up surrounded by a love of music.

Martin also loves to read and, of course, he loves science and nature! He looks forward to teaching our child about the hummingbirds, fireflies and cicadas that live in our back yard.

Jason loves to read also. He is a big fan of biographies and always has a new one on his bedside table. He can't wait to read books with our child.

Jason's favorite thing to do is to work in our garden. He is very excited about teaching our child about how all the different plants grow in our back yard!
